To be a strong WOMAN is a blessing, NOT a curse…
How many times have you been forced to silence your voice to avoid punishment, judgment, or pain?
How many times have you had to hide your true, authentic self, fearing that your essence would be misunderstood?
How many times have you compromised your well-being to fit in, to please, to adhere to social norms or expectations?
We live in a world where hypocrisy runs rampant. Every day, in every community, organization, and corporation, we hear motivational speeches, quotes, and campaigns intended to uplift women. But too often, these gestures are merely hollow. Just because you hired a few women last month doesn’t make your organization “equally inclusive.” It only means you’re saving costs. Just because you funded a woman-led startup doesn’t make you a champion for equal opportunity. And just because you capitalize on women’s insecurities to sell products doesn’t make you a beacon of empowerment.
For lifetimes, the role of women has been seen as secondary, a mere supporting figure—not sacred, but secondary. This belief has been ingrained into the very fabric of society, and the consequences are still felt today.
Where did this start?
Where and when should it end?
The Decline of Women’s Status Through History
In ancient Egypt, women once held significant power, both spiritually and politically. Pharaoh Hatshepsut ruled as a female monarch, and Goddesses like Isis and Hathor were revered for their creation, love, and protection. Women could own property, initiate divorce, and conduct business. They were honored for their connection to life and fertility—qualities that were sacred in this ancient, spiritually rich society.
But with the rise of patriarchal civilizations—Greece, Rome, and later feudal societies—everything changed. As military power and territorial expansion became the focus, strength became valued above all else. Men took on leadership roles, and women were pushed into the domestic sphere, unseen and unheard.
Religion played a part too, with some interpretations casting women as subservient to men, perpetuating the belief that they were somehow lesser. The rise of male-dominated economic systems made sure women had little to no control over property or inheritance. Colonization brought these patriarchal norms to distant lands, erasing cultures where women held higher social positions. And, for centuries, women’s connection to spirituality and healing was feared and suppressed, often leading to violent witch hunts.
Why Competition and Internalized Oppression?
Years of exclusion from leadership, education, and decision-making led many women to feel invisible, powerless, and inadequate. In a patriarchal world, women had no choice but to compete for male approval and resources. And the most harmful part? Women began to internalize these beliefs. We’ve been taught, whether consciously or unconsciously, that we are “less than,” leading to distrust, competition, and hurt amongst ourselves. This generational trauma continues, subtly but powerfully.
Can We Blame Men Alone?
While men have certainly perpetuated the systems of power and exclusion, women are not immune to the damage this has caused. We have belittled, judged, and competed with one another – one way or another destroying each other’s well-being, peace and even entire families… We have been conditioned to tear each other down, instead of lifting each other up.
Where Does the Change Begin?
The shift starts with us—right here, right now. We hold the power to shape our reality and, together, transform the collective. It’s time to heal. It’s time to reconnect with our hearts. It’s time to pull back our power—not through aggression, but by embracing our true essence. It’s time for mutual respect.
True strength lies in knowledge: education, especially financial literacy, is key. When we understand our worth, when we reclaim our gifts and talents, when we empower ourselves financially and emotionally, we become the women we were always meant to be.
We are the role models the next generation needs.
We are the women who will show the world that a strong, empowered woman is a blessing.
She is not a commodity. She is not an object to be traded or manipulated. She is deserving of respect, self-expression, and the freedom to thrive on her own terms.
If she chooses to be a mother, that is her divine gift, not a role to be taken away.
