“HER”

Who is “HER’.

Let’s start by saying who she is not.

She is NOT the mother who wants to be perfect for her kids and always present in every opportunity, PTA meeting, homework, projects … you get the idea.

She is NOT the wife who wants to be perfect and have everything under control

She is NOT the daughter who wants to be perfect and can’t say no to her family

She is NOT the friend who wants to always be available for her girlfriends

This woman who from the outside and according to the “standards” seems perfect and by the book is far from “HER”

This woman is overwhelmed with to-do lists, pressured by herself to fit an ideal she is conditioned with, only to find at night that she feels not enough and empty inside.

How can someone who does much and gets so much praise feel empty?

Well… that’s because none of these roles she plays are her true self.

Yes, she brings her gifts and qualities in everything she does

Yes, her family, her husband, friends, and community are important to her. But there is a huge part missing…”HER” own fulfillment, her purpose, her passions

Purpose is a driving force in your life that connects you to the values and ideals bigger than yourself.

Research shows purposeful living has a real impact on our well-being. Not only are those who move through life with a defined purpose more likely to stay happy in their jobs, but they are also less likely to suffer from anxiety and depression.  A strong sense of purpose has been linked to greater longevity too.

Finding your purpose starts with self-reflection, asking yourself hard questions about what you love, are passionate about, and what brings you fulfillment.

It involves exploring different paths, trying new things, and stepping out of your comfort zone to find honest answers from within.

1. GET TO KNOW YOURSELF BY ASKING QUESTIONS

When have you been the happiest in your life? What qualities do you admire in other people? How happy do you feel on an everyday basis? If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? What one change could you make your life happier?

2. EXPLORE YOUR PASSIONS

Try new things that can help you understand what brings you joy.  The things you love to do are your passions. Focus on what makes you rather than the materialistic or societal value of something. Your true passions ultimately fill your heart with joy.

3. JOIN A CLUB OR CAUSE

Putting yourself out there can help you find a purpose in life. Think about your interests, then join a club. It’s an excellent way to meet new people and motivate you to be involved in your community or do something important.

4. WRITE A PERSONAL VISION STATEMENT

Identifying your core values can help you envision your future. Write down your hopes, dreams, and goals you want to accomplish in life. Now place this somewhere you’ll always see and work towards your goals.

5. SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO UPLIFT YOU

Hanging out with inspiring people can help you thrive. People with realistic and positive outlook on life aren’t afraid to chase their dreams.

6. DEVELOP A GROWTH MINDSET

Challenging yourself to change can help you find your purpose. Embracing change and facing challenges is all apart of growing, and you can’t find your life’s purpose without a bit of growth. If you have a growth mindset, you believe that hard work and dedication help you become the best version of yourself.

7. PRACTICE SELF-ACCEPTANCE

Learning to accept your limitations can help you make smarter life goals. Being aware of what you can and can’t do is a great way to understand what your life purpose may be. Self-acceptance is all about accepting yourself as you are-faults and all. No one is perfect.

8. FOCUS LESS ON PLEASING OTHERS

Trying to make other people happy could hinder your overall purpose. Even if you determine that your life purpose is about helping others, do so without sacrificing your own needs. Focus on making decisions and choices that match your purpose not those around you.

Once we uncover your calling, and your purpose, the second step is to create the space for “HER” to fulfill that purpose.
